How hard is it to cancel Cloudflare?
Cloudflare scores 86/100 (grade A) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — among the most clearly documented cancellation policies we've scored. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve).
Cloudflare subscriptions are cancelled online and self-serve from the dashboard under Billing > Subscriptions: you turn off the feature under Active Subscriptions, or select Change and switch the plan down (for some subscriptions, selecting Free is how you cancel a paid plan). Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period and you keep paid features until then; downgrades should be made at least 24 hours before the billing date to avoid timing issues. Fees are non-refundable: you are billed for the full billing period in which you cancel and no refunds are issued for unused time. No pause or freeze option is available.
How to cancel Cloudflare
- Channels: online (self-serve)
- Official cancellation page: https://developers.cloudflare.com/billing/manage/cancel-subscription/
- Pause/freeze: not offered. Cloudflare does not offer a pause or hold. To stop paying, you either turn off an individual subscription or change the plan down to Free; the account itself remains.
- Refund policy: https://developers.cloudflare.com/billing/understand/billing-policy/
- Account/data deletion: Downgrading to Free or cancelling a subscription keeps the account active. Closing or deleting the Cloudflare account is a separate self-serve action in the dashboard. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
