How hard is it to cancel Cleo?

Cleo scores 72/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via in-app.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Cleo subscriptions (Plus, Builder) are cancelled entirely in-app via Profile > Subscriptions > Unsubscribe; there is no phone, email, or web portal cancel path, and deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. Cancellation takes effect immediately and a confirmation email is sent, but no explicit notice period or end-of-billing-cycle timing is disclosed. Refunds are available only within 30 days of initial sign-up, provided the user has not requested a cash advance or opened a Cleo Card; after that window all fees are non-refundable. No subscription pause or freeze feature is offered.

How to cancel Cleo

  • Channels: in-app
  • Official cancellation page: https://web.meetcleo.com/faqs/en/collections/1937348-cancellation-and-refunds
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option documented. Users must fully cancel via in-app unsubscribe flow.
  • Refund policy: https://web.meetcleo.com/faqs/en/collections/1937348-cancellation-and-refunds
  • Account/data deletion: Account deletion is available in-app via Profile > Your details > Delete your account. Deletion is irreversible and permanently removes transaction history and bank account details. Plaid data access is also terminated. Users must cancel subscriptions and receive any pending refunds before deleting, as account data is needed for refund processing. https://web.meetcleo.com/faqs/en/articles/1354571-how-do-i-delete-my-cleo-account

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
