Chime accounts can be closed self-serve in the app via Profile > Personal info > Close Account, or by calling Member Services at (844) 244-6363 (24/7) or using in-app chat. Closure requests are processed within 5 business days. There is no fee to close. If the remaining balance is not transferred before closure, a refund check is issued within 14 days of closure and delivered within 30 days total; balances under $1.00 may not be refunded. Accounts with negative balances cannot be closed. A grace period exists: closures can be cancelled within 5 business days of the request by contacting Member Services. Credit Builder and Chime Card secured accounts require contacting support to close (not self-serve). Closed accounts cannot be reopened.
