How hard is it to cancel Cell C?
Cell C scores 57/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the ZA — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via phone, in person, online (self-serve), in-app, email.
Cell C customers may cancel a fixed-term postpaid contract at any time under the Consumer Protection Act by giving 20 business days' written or recorded notice (via website, app, phone 084 143, in-store, or email [email protected]). An early termination penalty applies, calculated as the remaining device value plus 50% of the remaining monthly subscription charges for the balance of the contract term; there is no proration refund for the unused portion of the current billing month. For C-Fibre and prepaid fibre services, 1 calendar month's notice is required, with pro-rated infrastructure costs recoverable if cancelled within 24 months of activation. Personal data deletion requests under POPIA must be submitted in writing to [email protected].

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
