How hard is it to cancel Careem?

Careem scores 64/100 (grade C) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the AE — a partially documented cancellation policy with notable gaps. Cancellation is available via in-app.

Last reviewed 2026-06-10 · Documented-Policy tier · grade C

Careem Plus (AED 19/month) can only be cancelled via the mobile app: go to Profile > Careem Plus > Manage subscription > Cancel my subscription, select a reason, and confirm. Careem recommends cancelling at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next cycle. After cancellation, subscription benefits remain active through the end of the current paid period and auto-renewal is disabled. No refunds are issued for auto-renewed subscription periods, even if unused. There is no web-based cancellation path; the app is the sole channel. Account deletion (separate from subscription cancellation) is also done in-app and takes up to 90 days to complete.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
