How hard is it to cancel Box?

Box scores 70/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-05 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Box supports self-serve online cancellation (via Account Settings for Personal Pro, or Admin Console for Business/Enterprise) and email cancellation through [email protected]. Accounts cancel at the end of the current service term, and renewals require cancellation at least 30 days before the renewal date to avoid being charged. All services are prepaid and explicitly non-refundable, including renewed accounts; exceptions for unwanted renewal charges require a support case submitted to the Billing Team. There is no pause or freeze feature available.

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
