Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Bitbucket (Atlassian) subscriptions are cancelled entirely online via admin.atlassian.com/billing by navigating to Subscriptions, selecting Manage, then Deactivate — a multi-step but fully self-serve process. Cancellation is scheduled rather than immediate: deactivation takes effect 15 days after the end of the current billing period. No refund or credit is issued for cancelling before the end of a billing cycle; a prorated refund is only available when converting from an annual plan to monthly. There is no pause or freeze option.

How to cancel Bitbucket

  • Channels: online (self-serve)
  • Official cancellation page: https://support.atlassian.com/subscriptions-and-billing/docs/cancel-a-subscription/
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No pause or freeze option is available for Bitbucket subscriptions.
  • Account/data deletion: Users can submit a personal data deletion request via Atlassian's GDPR portal. Data is retained for a reasonable period after account deactivation; content shared with other users may persist. Org admins can also manage data deletion within Atlassian's admin console. https://www.atlassian.com/trust/privacy/gdpr/request-delete-personal-data

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
