How hard is it to cancel Balance?
Balance scores 83/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via in-app, online (self-serve).
Balance subscriptions are cancelled through the platform used to purchase: iOS users cancel via Apple App Store subscription settings, Android users via Google Play, and web subscribers via the Stripe Subscription Management Portal — all self-serve with no phone or email required. Cancellation disables auto-renewal and access continues until the end of the current billing period with no proration. The Terms state all purchases are final and non-refundable except at Balance's sole discretion, though support can submit refund requests to Google or Stripe on your behalf within 30 days; Apple refunds must go through Apple directly. Free trial users must cancel at least 24 hours before trial expiry to avoid a charge.
How to cancel Balance
- Channels: in-app, online (self-serve)
- Official cancellation page: https://support.balanceapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407840908059-How-do-I-cancel-my-subscription
- Pause/freeze: not offered. Balance does not offer a subscription pause option, per official support documentation.
- Account/data deletion: Account can be deleted from within the app; deletion permanently and irreversibly removes all data. Deleting the account does NOT cancel an active subscription — that must be done separately through Apple, Google, or Stripe. https://support.balanceapp.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407831555739-How-do-I-delete-my-account

Scope & fairness
This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
