How hard is it to cancel Apollo.io?

Apollo.io scores 84/100 (grade B) for how clearly it documents cancellation in the US — a clearly documented cancellation policy. Cancellation is available via online (self-serve), email.

Last reviewed 2026-06-06 · Documented-Policy tier · grade B

Self-serve cancellation exists for most paid teams: launch Apollo, go to Admin Settings > Plan overview, scroll to the bottom and click 'Cancel Plan' (or 'Manage Subscription'), then select a cancellation reason and confirm. The account moves to 'pending cancellation' and the cancellation processes at the END of the current plan term - you keep full access and existing credits until then, and can click 'Reactivate plan' to undo it before it takes effect. If you don't see the self-serve option, or if the account was opened with Apollo's sales team, you must contact support or your account manager; cancellation can also be requested by emailing [email protected]. Downgrades are NOT a cancellation: plan/seat downgrades apply immediately, add-on downgrades apply at the end of the billing cycle, and refunds are NOT processed for mid-term downgrades. Apollo is a web SaaS billed directly (no app-store intermediary caveat).

How to cancel Apollo.io

  • Channels: online (self-serve), email
  • Official cancellation page: https://knowledge.apollo.io/hc/en-us/articles/4677130104333-Customize-and-Manage-Your-Apollo-Plan
  • Pause/freeze: not offered. No subscription pause/freeze is documented. The nearest equivalent is 'pending cancellation' status: once you cancel, you keep full access and existing credits until the end of the current term, and can click 'Reactivate plan' before it takes effect to undo it. Downgrades (plan/seat) take effect immediately; add-on downgrades take effect at end of billing cycle.
  • Account/data deletion: Two paths. (1) Account deletion for logged-in users: profile picture > Settings > Account Preferences > 'Delete My Account' and confirm. (2) Personal-data removal / GDPR-CCPA rights: use the Apollo Privacy Center self-serve forms to opt out and have data deleted, or email [email protected]. Apollo states it is GDPR-compliant and deletes personal data on valid request; opt-out requests are typically processed within 24-48 hours. Note: account deletion closes the login, while database removal hides the public/contact profile - these are distinct. https://www.apollo.io/company/privacy-center

Scope & fairness

This is the Documented-Policy tier: it measures how clearly the cancellation policy is published (cited, dated facts), not the behavioural experience of cancelling (Verified-Flow audit pending). Every company is scored on the same five dimensions with the same published weights — scores cannot be bought or removed. It is opinion grounded in disclosed facts, and not legal advice.
