Allianz Direct customers can cancel their Kfz insurance online in a few clicks via the 'Mein Account' login (the German Kündigungsbutton), with no letter, fax, or email required; cancellation by post, fax, or email is also accepted (email for contracts from 1 October 2016). Ordinary cancellation must reach the insurer at least one month before the contract year ends, typically by 30 November for a 31 December anniversary, and the policy auto-renews otherwise. Special cancellation rights apply after a premium increase (within one month of notice), after a claim is settled, on vehicle sale (new owner cancels within the first month), and on de-registration. The cancellation page does not detail unused-premium refund procedures.
